The workshop is being lead by Mark Simmonds who is a consultant for the national Making Local Food Work programme being delivered by Co-operatives UK.

The workshop will provide information on a range of legal structures that are appropriate for local food projects and community enterprises. This will include information about co-operatives, community interest companies (CICs),charitable status, and different structures for raising community finance.

In addition the workshop will focus on governance issues and will provide good advice for new and developing community enterprises.

BBC broadcasts home grown milestone for PC

Did anybody watch Rebecca Hosking’s documentary called A Farm for the Future that was broadcast by the Beeb during Friday night peak viewing on February 22?

The film started of with an exploration of  Peak Oil, and the vulnerability of global food systems, with interviews with peak oil experts including Colin Cambell and Richard Heinberg, and a whistle-stop tour of Transition Towns.
