Manchester Permaculture Visits Offshoots

In June 09 a few of us from Manchester Permaculture went and visited Burnley Offshoots. You can find out a bit more about how this visit was organised here.

 

Sounds of Offshoots

Since then, I have discovered this excellent instrumental electroacoustic music on myspace by a guy called Lee Gregory  (or RandomLee). The track is called Offshoots, Illness & Angry Troll Bash The Little Pixies, and is composed entirely using field recordings from Offshoots Permaculture. Far out dude ..

Best Groundwork Project

On June 18th Offshoots won a Green Triangle award, in front of several hundred delegates at the Groundwork annual Northwest conference. The award was won for the best project in  the Environmental Action category. Pictured is Phill Dewhurst from Offshoots, along with two volunteers, receiving their award from Cllr Neil Swannick (Manchester). Below is a promotional video made by Groundwork, to celebrate the success of the project.

thanks for featuring my work here.  the track is just called Offshoots or Sounds of Offshoots (illness and angry troll are seperate pieces).  i hope to do some more work with offshoots later this year.  there is also a 4 channel surround sound version of the track available for free download here:
